چکیده

Polyimide aerogels are promising for diverse applications owing to their nano-porous structure and superior properties. However, the shrinkage of melamine-crosslinked polyimide (MPI) has greatly compromised performance in practical applications. In this study, supercritical drying with ethanol rather than CO2 is employed enhance in-use shape stability at high temperatures. The structure, thermal insulation, mechanical strength resultant as well characterized. Experimental results reveal that MPI during use improved thanks in-advance baptism drying. aerogel shrinks by only 2.64 vol.% after being treated 280 °C 72 h. Besides, shows enhanced compressive can easily support a load more 20 000 times its own weight. conductivity these varies from 0.034 0.046 W m−1 k−1, indicative remarkable insulation. addition, started decompose 500 also perform char forming. It be envisaged developed may have broad prospects insulation

Water extractable arabinoxylan aerogels prepared by supercritical CO2 drying.

Water extractable arabinoxylan (WEAX) aerogels were prepared by extracting the solvent from the alcogels (WEAX hydrogels with an alcohol as the solvent) with carbon dioxide under supercritical conditions. WEAX aerogels were characterized using scanning electron microscopy and adsorption and desorption nitrogen isotherms. The micrographs indicate a heterogeneous porous network structure in WEAX ...

Interpenetration of Natural Polymer Aerogels by Supercritical Drying

Natural polymers, such as alginate and gelatin, can be used to produce scaffolds for tissue engineering applications; but, their mechanical and biochemical performance should be improved. A possible solution to obtain this result, is the generation of multi-component scaffolds, by blending two or more polymers. One way to realize it, is the formation of an interpenetrating polymer network (IPN)...

Fabrication of activated carbon fibers/carbon aerogels composites by gelation and supercritical drying in isopropanol

Activated carbon fiber/carbon aerogel (ACF/CA) composites were fabricated by gelling a mixture of ACF and resorcinol and furfural, followed by supercritical drying of the mixture in isopropanol. The product then went through carbonization in a nitrogen atmosphere. The fabrication conditions, such as the mass content of R–F, the content of the ACF added, and the gelation temperature, were explor...

Studies of the Chemical and Pore Structures of the Carbon Aerogels Synthesized by Gelation and Supercritical Drying in Isopropanol

The carbon aerogels prepared by a new method through gelation and supercritical drying in isopropanol were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), scanning electron microscopy, and a surface area analyzer. Their chemical structure, morphology, and pore structure are discussed. We found that all of these carbon aerogel (CA-IPA) samples have almost the same carbon and oxygen elem...

Influence of Phenyltrimethoxysilane on Physicochemical Properties of Teos Based Monolithic Silica Aerogels Prepared by Supercritical Drying Process

The objective of the present research work is to synthesize transparent, hydrophobic, monolithic silica aerogels with ultralow density by using supercritical drying process. The effect of phenyltrimethoxysilane as a hydrophobic reagent on the physicochemical properties of the silica aerogels has been studied. The total processing time for the synthesis of monolithic silica aerogels minimized to...
